His name is Justin Fletcher. He is one of the funniest people on kids TV. Just see him in Higgledy house with Sarah Jane Honeywell.

TV favourite Mr Tumble is greeting toddlers by saying Im f****** you in sign language.

The CBeebies character says the gestures mean Im happy to see you.

But angry parents have accused the BBC of jumbling up their signals.

Dad-of-one Jamie Miller, who works for the Royal National Institute for the Deaf, was stunned when he watched Something Special with daughter Katie, five.

Jamie, 32, of Northallerton, Yorks, said: The signs for happy and f****** are quite similar but it was still an awful error to make.

The BBC yesterday denied the blunder saying they use Makaton signals, which vary from British Sign Language.

RNID spokeswoman Kate Sidwell said: We advised the BBC that using Makaton would cause confusion.

Makaton is used more for children with learning difficulties it is essentially a different language.

In British Sign Language happy is shown by gently brushing the palms against each other. The swear word is made by brushing the hands together between the thumb and first finger.

Support Mr Tumble!

Mr. Tumble is a widely loved BBC CBeebies childrens TV character, played by Justin Fletcher. He has been accused by a certain UK newspaper of saying inappropriate things through his sign language. We know deep in our hearts that he would never abuse his powers of sign-language. His love is widespread, a friend to all and he has helped so many children. Show your support for him by leaving a message below.

(All messages are checked for nice-ness before being allowed).

Thanks for all your messages so far! Please keep them coming!

We've actually been contacted by someone very important close to the show to express their thanks but we're not allowed to say who they are at the moment! We'll keep you posted! Exciting..!

Don't be alarmed! Mr Tumble is not going anywhere!! The BBC has changed it's schedules, and 'Something Special' is currently being shown at 13:15 (Mondays) on BBC2.

NEWS FLASH : Mr Tumble now follows Lazy Town on CBeebies every weekday - at about 16.25! See the links section for Mr Tumbles latest schedule.
